Juanfran Garcia commented on how Levante felt they had three points within their grasp at the weekend, so defeat to Real Madrid hurt all the more.
Los Granotes were leading 2-1 with 90 minutes on the clock in Week 8, before Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo popped up with stoppage time strikes to take the win for Los Blancos.
“That was a very complete game and we were looking at the three points,” Juanfran considered this week.
“It was a weird feeling after the game because we had the same number of points as when we had started.
“The truth is that I would rather have lost 3-0 and we would not have been left with the vacuum left when we had in sight points to pick up.
“The thing is that in the final four minutes, we barely had the ball, there was no mistake or anything like that.
“It was not the Madrid that everyone expected for their last three games. We had the feeling that we could hurt them and win, but a team with very high potential will create a lot of chances. Whether you are on form or not, at the end it is whether the chances are taken.
“The dressing room is annoyed because we felt that we had the three points and it doesn’t matter whether you are playing Madrid or someone else, the feeling is one of helplessness.
“Now we have a series of games in which we have to pick up points.”
