Betis confirm Castro surgery

Real Betis have confirmed that striker Ruben Castro will undergo surgery this week on a chronic hamstring injury.

The player has only managed the two appearances for Los Beticos this season so far, having struggled since preseason predominantly with sciatica and also other muscle-related injuries.

On from receiving treatment on the sciatica, the club have confirmed that a chronic enthesopathy in the player’s hamstring has now been identified.

The issue, which sees abnormalities in attachments between muscle and bone, with regards to ligaments and tendons, requires surgical intervention and that is set for this Thursday.

Reporting the operation as minor, Betis suggest that Castro will be ruled out for a period of six weeks.
