Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde hopes to make the new San Mames as a fortress as his side prepare to face Valencia.
Los Leones host Los Che this evening, and the Coach wants his men to use the new ground to their advantage.
“It would be good for us to stay strong at home,” he told reporters. “We have to maintain consistent at our own stadium.
“I’m expecting a very difficult game though, against a team that will be fighting for a Champions League place.
“We’ve tried to correct the mistakes we made against Granada and will look to this game as a new opportunity.”
