Valencia, Rami ‘seek solution’

Valencia have suspended Adil Rami without pay for a week, ahead of working together to “find a solution that is satisfactory to both parties.”

The centre-back was provisionally suspended without pay last week for publicly criticising his teammates and Coach Miroslav Djukic on radio.

On from reports that the club are looking at sending the player out on loan in January, a statement on a disciplinary sanction determined has been released.

“Valencia and Adil Rami, along with his lawyers, have held a meeting this morning in relation to disciplinary proceedings opened by the club against the player last week,” began Valencia’s official statement released today.

“After listening to the player, who has expressed regret for the statements made against the Coach and his teammates, the club has taken into account the mitigating factors and have decided to sanction, in accordance with internal regulations, with a week of suspension of employment and payment of the player.

“Regardless of the punishment, Valencia and Adil Rami have agreed to work together to find a solution that is satisfactory to both parties.”

Napoli were reported earlier this week, via their Coach Rafa Benitez, to have turned down an initial approach from Los Che to take the 27-year-old on loan midseason.
