‘Rayo’s pride has been damaged’

Paco Jemez has assured that Rayo Vallecano are determined to end their miserable run of form with a result against Real Sociedad this weekend.

Week 8 sees Rayo host the San Sebastian outfit whilst say in the relegation zone, thanks to six defeats from the opening seven weeks of the League campaign.

“We have more morale and more courage than anyone,” determined Jemez in today’s Press conference, though.

“The situation is compromised, but the group is providing the means to overcome it. Rayo Vallecano’s pride is damaged, because more of the defeats have been of our own doing and we do not like to be where we are.

“Last week, the sensations were good, we made few errors and there were more good things to see. We are improving as a team. This is the path that will lead us to victory.

“We have high hopes for this match against Real Sociedad, but we have to win in almost every facet of the game.

“If we can remove those little mistakes we have made before then we can compete with anyone. I just do not want the anxiety to fester.

“Will Real be tired from the midweek game? It depends on us, the game that we provide. If we slow the play, they will feel comfortable.

“If the game is fast and we demand an effort then it is possible that some of the players will pay in the end. Whatever we do, we have earn it.”
