Arrasate: A win would ease things

Jagoba Arrasate has admitted that a win for Real Sociedad this weekend at Rayo Vallecano would give them ‘peace of mind’ in the international break.

La Real head out to the capital this Saturday evening in Week 8 having continued a poor run of form in midweek with defeat at Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

“Emotionally, yes we have forgotten midweek, but physically I do not know,” reflected Arrasate to reporters today.

“We have discussed it, we have raised ourselves and we have to make this final effort before the international break.

“The dressing room was hit by the defeat, but that is normal, for the cruel manner after we had deserved much more, but whether we did well or not, we have moved on.

“Are we missing too many chances? I don’t know, tomorrow we will look to do things right, it is a matter of momentum, and I hope that we are able to correct where we have gone wrong at Vallecas.”

It is now eight games without a win for Arrasate.

“We always need to win, but to win is always easier when you play a good match, because you are closer to victory. In the League we have seven points and we want more.

“To face the break with a win would give us peace of mind, knowing that we have to improve whilst giving us the morale to continue growing.

“Rayo are a team that wants the ball, when they have it they hurt you and when they don’t, they press you, but in taking possession ourselves, we will know that we will have chances to score. We know how to manage the game.

“Paco Jemez? He is a unique Coach, I like those that give a stamp to their teams and he has, he is a brave Coach, they have not started well, but he is a Coach to consider.”
