Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has mused that most important to being a success in football is ‘believing in yourself’.
The 32-year-old is currently enduring an almost year-long run out of the first-team picture at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In a promotional interview released today, the Spain captain reflected on what is important to sustaining success in the game.
“To believe in yourself is most important, to never doubt yourself and let nobody make you hesitate,” responded Casillas to H&S.
“If people make you doubt yourself, then you are lost. If you have done it before, why are you not going to do it again?
“The success of a footballer is not only down to physical talent, but also what is inside the head.
“What would I advise a younger Casillas? To be less resentful.”
