Almeria boss Francisco congratulated his players despite losing 2-0 to Barcelona on Saturday evening.
Goals from Lionel Messi and Adriano gave the Blaugrana all three points, but the newly-promoted side’s Coach was delighted with his men.
“We have competed well against the best team in the League,” he told a Press conference.
“We wanted to get something positive in terms of points. In the first half we did really well. I thought we read the game perfectly.
“They had very few opportunities, but when they had one, Messi scored.
“We suffered a lot in the second half, especially after they got their second.
“But I want to thank my players for putting in such a big effort.”
