Francisco: Almeria created chances…

Francisco Rodriguez admitted that his Almeria side fell away against Malaga on Tuesday evening after failing to take their chances.

The promoted outfit are still in search of a first win of the season after goals from Fernando Tissone and Francisco Portillo saw them leave La Rosaleda in Week 6 empty handed.

“In the first half we competed well and we had chances to score,” mused Coach Francisco post-match.

“We had chances like those for Pellerano and Rodri…any of those chances that we had, but we did not score. It has not been possible.

“But in the second half and after their first goal, we did not have the desire nor the power. Although we had a chance to draw level, things became complicated because Malaga closed out very well.

“We came here with the intention. This was a field and a team that we wanted to do well against, but with a team like Malaga, with their people behind them, it was difficult.

“Malaga are a team to be in the upper-middle part of the table, they are a good team with good players that we matched in the first half, but in the second they were better.

“We will try in the next game. We are thinking towards Barcelona, to compete, we have lost here and we have to recover soon.”
