Fran Escriba has outlined his belief that Elche can defeat Real Madrid this midweek, albeit if their chances of doing so are limited.
The promoted outfit are preparing to host Los Merengues this Wednesday evening in Week 6’s midweek round very much the underdogs and without a win yet this term.
“We have a chance to win, but I do not know the percentage,” reflected Coach Escriba in his pre-match Press conference on Tuesday.
“Nobody would have a zero per cent chance of winning, we will not give up on anything and we have not already written off the game.
“Their strengths? Madrid are a team with great quality, and to focus on a particular player tomorrow would be a mistake.
“Whoever they play, I have confidence in my team and I hope that tomorrow we will do everything possible to win.
“I truly believe that we can win and if I didn’t then I would not have devoted our time this week to this, even if it is logical that they could beat us.
“It is important that we focus on what we can do and that we do not allow them to do what they can do.
“What Real Betis and Villarreal have done before against Madrid is our reference point, we will try to take some points off of them.”
