‘Boakye best Elche could get’

Fran Escriba has looked ahead to Elche’s test with Almeria this weekend, as well as enthused at Richmond Boakye’s arrival from Juventus.

The Alicante outfit face familiar opposition in Week 3, as they travel out to fellow newly promoted outfit Almeria this Friday evening.

“Almeria play a very attractive style of football,” Coach Escriba offered to reporters today.

“We will have to be careful, especially in defence, in trying to pick up a result.

“The game will be quite open, because they play attractive football and they attack with much enthusiasm. I do not like games that are so open.

“We come into this one in a similar situation to Almeria. I do not want to say that they are a rival in our League, because every team in the Division is and we can steal points from anyone.

“But they are a direct rival.”

Elche yesterday picked up Juventus youngster Richmond Boakye.

“He has integrated quickly and if the documentation is processed on time and we need to, we can use him. His footballing adaptation will be fast.

“He is the best No 9 the club could bring in and Elche are the best club for him to continue to grow at.”
