Pepe Mel reflected that Real Betis only have themselves to blame for an unproductive start to the League season.
Los Beticos followed up last weekend’s close-fought defeat at Real Madrid with a surprise 2-1 reverse at home to Celta Vigo on Sunday evening.
“Having lost, this is a bad night for us,” Mel commented afterwards.
“When you miss nine chances, it is logical that you will go wrong. Yes or yes.
“We cannot miss five chances against Everton [in preseason], five against Real Madrid, five in the Czech Republic [in the Europa League] and now 10 or 12 here. We must be more assured. From the nine tonight, we should have scored three. We had all types of chances.
“The concern really is that we have zero points, that is the reality. But, I like this Betis, they are a team that creates, they have the ball and they want to play football.”
