Caparros: Levante on right track

Joaquin Caparros took value from Levante’s 0-0 draw at home to Sevilla, believing that their performance was a marked improvement.

Los Granotes began the season with a  7-0 defeat to defending champions Barcelona last weekend, but followed that with a clean sheet in a goalless draw at home to Sevilla in Week 2 this Sunday.

“We have changed a lot with respect to the game at Barcelona last week,” reflected Coach Caparros afterwards.

“We have played a great first half and we had more chances than Sevilla, but in the second half it is true that the domain has belonged to our opponent, who are a great team and very well run.

“In the first half we had possession and space and then we began to get tired, especially when Sevilla refreshed with substitutions, but it is true that the two most clear-cut chances, one in each half, were ours.

“We are lacking a lot, because here we have drawn, but we have shown the way forward against a team that has spent €40m, compared to the €200,000 Levante has.”
