Former Real Madrid winger Steve McManaman has backed Gareth Bale to do well at Santiago Bernabeu.
The Tottenham man is expected to join Los Blancos next week after being spotted in Marbella in the south of Spain.
And the ex-England international, who signed for the capital club from Liverpool in 1999, has insisted that the Welsh attacker can do well in La Liga.
“It's a Champions League team. Gareth's playing arguably the best football of his career in this moment in time. If he does make the move it should be a very exciting move for him,' McManaman told the Daily Mail
“If Gareth does go there, he'll thoroughly enjoy himself and have no problems on the pitch because he's a wonderful player.
“As we know, the Spanish capital city is a wonderful place to live, that's what I would say.”
