‘Iborra will struggle against Levante’

David Navarro believes that Vicente Iborra will struggle for Sevilla on Sunday when he returns to face Levante.

Week 2 sees the midfielder [pictured] make a quick return to the Ciutat de Valencia, on from only just being sold by Levante to Los Nervionenses last week.

For his former teammate and future opponent, the occasion may just get the better of him.

“It will be a special game because last week he was here with us and I think it will be difficult for him psychologically,” Navarro commented to reporters today.

“I’ve been in that situation and it is an effort to stay focused on the game.”

Levante head into the game looking to make up for a 7-0 hammering at Barcelona last Sunday and to pick up their first points under new Coach Joaquin Caparros.

“We have quickly forgotten last weekend, the team has already moved on and focused on picking up points against Sevilla.

“Work under Caparros? The Coach loves very much pressure and on this he has emphasised. Last year we stood off opponents more but he wants us to be pushing again.”

The defender was asked of speculation at the moment surrounding the future of both himself and teammate Pape Diop.

“It’s something between the club and Pape. Everyone looks after their interests and hopefully it will be resolved soon.

“And my future? So far there is no news. I have a year on my contract and currently I and talking with Levante, I’m focused on the day-to-day.

“This summer there were a couple of teams interested but I rejected such offers and I am in no hurry.

“There was talk of perhaps an offer to renew but so far there has been nothing, so I really do not know the intent of the club.”
