Samuel Eto’o has apparently been offered to Real Madrid this transfer window, as Anzhi reportedly struggle to pay his wage.
The former Barcelona forward, who had a previous spell on the books at the Santiago Bernabeu, is currently seen as one of the highest paid players in the game, with his Russian employers running a salary upwards of €20m.
However, it is understood that having been informed by Anzhi of their difficulty in continuing to pay that amount, the player’s agents have taken it upon themselves to source new employers this summer.
Whilst a reunion with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea has been suggested in recent weeks, or even a return to the Nerazzurri in Italy, Sport report that Madrid have been approached about making a possible bid too.
