Madrid in ‘decisive phase’ for Bale

Real Madrid are reportedly in a decisive phase of negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Gareth Bale.

Los Blancos have been reported this week as having agreed a world record £93m, €109m deal for the Welshman.

Fabio Coentrao was seen as possibly moving in the opposite direction, but recent reports have thrown this possibility into doubt.

Reports in Britain and Spain understand now that negotiations between the two clubs for Bale have entered a crucial, decisive period that will look to resolve finer points to the transfer.

Spurs’ director of football Franco Baldini is believed to be in the Spanish capital this week to resolve matters on the deal, even as it is believed that the Londoners are keen to wrap up a move for Roma’s Erik Lamela before officially signing of on their No 11’s sale.

With the Argentine’s move to White Hart Lane seen as close to completion, it is speculated that Bale’s exit to the Spanish capital could be confirmed as early as Friday.
