Alex Lopez has Betis respect

Celta Vigo are in for a tough time in Week 2’s trip to face Real Betis, argues their midfielder Alex Lopez today.

The Galicians travel south this Sunday to the Benito Villamarin to face a Betis side who came close to securing a draw last weekend at Real Madrid.

Combined with their eighth place finish last season, Celta’s Lopez has made clear that his side are full of respect.

“Betis have maintained their style of play,” ventured the 25-year-old to reporters today.

“They are very focused at the back, they defend with the lines of the team close together and then in attack they have people who are very fast but who can also play as the game requires.

“They are a very complete team. This year they are competing in the Europa League and that says it all.

“Last year Betis proved to be a very serious team and on the first weekend, at a ground as hard as the Santiago Bernabeu, they had a great game.

“It is going to be a tough game for us but we will go there to try to add three points because this is football and you can beat anyone.”
