Malaga have confirmed that Weligton has undergone surgery this afternoon on his broken collarbone.
The central defender was injured in the club’s preseason loss to Aston Villa earlier this month after a collision with Christian Benteke.
But the Andalusian side have revealed that the Brazilian will stay in hospital for another 24 hours before being discharged.
He is likely to be out for the next two months.
