Athletic Bilbao youngster Mikel San Jose has injured his left ankle and will miss the opening club’s opening League game against Real Valladolid.
The 24-year-old was set for a starting place in Ernesto Valverde’s XI this weekend, but had to limp out of today’s training session.
The Spain U21 international has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain, and will almost certainly sit out the opening game of the campaign.
