Real Betis boss Pepe Mel has claimed that his side are ready for the new season, but has admitted that it will be tough against Real Madrid.
The Verdiblancos face Carlo Ancelotti’s men in their opening Liga fixture next weekend, and the Coach has conceded that his team are huge underdogs.
“I am pleased with our preseason,” he told reporters. “We’ve brought in a few new players, but we’re working out new concepts well.
“We’d be ready for the new season if we played 99 per cent of the teams.
“But when you face Madrid or Barca, you know what usually happens.”
