Madrid’s Bale talks stall

Talks between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur over Gareth Bale’s transfer have stalled, reports The Telegraph.

Spurs’ Chairman Daniel Levy has refused to meet Madrid officials for a second time this week after he expressed doubts over the Spanish club’s ability to pay for the Welsh international.

The London club have become increasingly unhappy with Los Blancos’ stance over Bale and are annoyed that their President Florentino Perez is still to make a formal offer for the player.

There is also a feeling Real are testing Levy’s resolve and are hoping to snare to Bale just before the transfer window closes for a much lower price than the €105m so far mentioned.

However, Levy is in no mood to be messed around and it is understood he is prepared to dig his heels in, as was the case with Luka Modric two years ago when he was agitating for a switch to Chelsea.

Furthermore, the White Hart Lane hierarchy are becoming convinced Madrid do not have the money to buy Bale, particularly on the kind of terms they would demand over payment for the 24-year-old.
