Fran Rico positive for Granada return

Granada midfielder Fran Rico says he is looking forward to making his long-awaited return from injury at the start of the season.

The 26-year-old former Real Madrid Castilla player [pictured, right] missed the whole of the 2012-13 campaign after suffering a serious knee injury, yet he insists he is very happy with how things have gone for him this summer.

“I’m pleased at the way things are coming along but there’s still a lot to do as physically it is difficult to recover after so much time out,” Rico told a Press conference.

“However, I must stress that the most important thing is for the team to be in good shape for the first La Liga game against Osasuna at El Sadar, which will be an uphill battle.

“We’ve been working well despite some friendlies where we haven’t done as well as we should have.

“But we’ve made some good signings, players who have come here to make their mark in La Primera, and they will be very important to us.”
