Illarra suffering from stress

Asier Illarramendi’s adaptation to Real Madrid and eagerness to return to playing are reportedly contributing to his continued absence.

The midfielder has been struggling with his physical condition since complaining of muscle discomfort and being substituted during the first half of last week’s friendly at Lyon.

Whilst travelling out with the rest of his new teammates to the United States, the 23-year-old has continued to work separately from his teammates.

La Sexta report this week that his continued absence due to muscle overloading is believed by club medics to be caused by a primary symptom of stress.

It is alleged that the player’s adaptation to his new surroundings and his subsequent eagerness to return to full fitness are contributing to his continued struggles.

Marca allege that he may not be fit enough to feature in any of Madrid’s games during their preseason tour of the United States.
