Gareth Bale has reportedly requested that he not be called for Tottenham’s friendly this weekend, amid interest from Real Madrid.
The winger is seen as the subject of increasingly strong interest from Madrid this summer, even as Spurs push for a world record transfer offer upwards of €100m.
Following on from reports that the player has told the Premier League club of his desire that they reach an agreement with Los Blancos, the 24-year-old has reportedly requested that he not be considered for this weekend.
Spurs meet Monaco in a preseason friendly on Saturday and indications are that he is fit enough for consideration, having missed the team’s games in Asia earlier this summer.
However, AS report that Bale has asked Coach Andre Villas-Boas not to include him in the squad and that it is a situation that, if obliged, will see the player refuse to play.
