Soldado negotiations closed

Roberto Soldado’s transfer from Valencia to Tottenham is believed just awaiting announcement, as final terms of agreement are reportedly reached.

Wednesday saw reports indicate that the 28-year-old was all but set for the move to North London, with only Spurs’ method of payment and then an issue between Los Che and the player’s agency holding things up.

Superdeporte believe that as of 00.30 last night, Soldado is a Tottenham player, with the two clubs and the striker signing off on an agreement.

It is understood that the Premier League side will front up €12m this summer to take the Spain international, and then pay further instalments of €6m in each of the next three years.

The player, who has been left out of Valencia’s preseason squad to travel out to the US today, now only needs a medical examination.

Valencia are once more also expected to close on Helder Postiga’s arrival in Soldado’s place, with an agreement for the Real Zaragoza man seen as all but signed off on as well.
