Jonathan dos Santos has confirmed that he will be staying with Barcelona for the 2013-14 season, turning down a move to Real Sociedad.
The Mexican was speculated as on his way out of the Camp Nou this summer in search of first team football, with La Real seen as having lined up a loan deal.
However, on from meeting new Coach Gerardo Martino and reportedly being told by the Argentine that he figures in first team plans for the Catalans next season, the player has declared his happiness at staying.
“Thank you to the club and the Coach for the confidence they are providing me,” wrote Dos Santos on his official Twitter account.
“I communicate with great joy that I am staying at Barca.
“Now more than ever I am close to fulfilling my dream, to succeed at Barca.”
