Real Madrid continued preseason work in the US yesterday without midfielder Asier Illarramendi, who worked in the gym again.
The summer signing from Real Sociedad was pulled off 34 minutes into his second appearance for the team during last week’s friendly at Lyon.
Complaining of muscle discomfort, the player was unavailable for Madrid’s game against Paris Saint-Germain that followed a few days later and has so far missed the squad’s first sessions in Los Angeles this week.
Illarramendi has instead been working in the gym aiming to recover full fitness having been seen as suffering generally from overload.
Meanwhile, yesterday also saw the Madrid players participate in a footballing clinic with 100 boys and girls of different ages.
The event saw the players mixed with the youngsters in different groups and take part in various training routines.
