AVB won’t be drawn on Bale

Tottenham Coach Andre Villas-Boas has refused to comment on whether Real Madrid have made an official bid for Gareth Bale.

The Sun claimed today that Los Blancos had made a €93.8m offer for the Wales international, whilst Marca reported on quotes attributed to the 24-year-old insisting that he wants to join the Santiago Bernabeu side.

But the Portuguese tactician has refused to be drawn on any Press reports.

“I don’t want to comment on anything like that,” he told reporters in Hong Kong. “I cannot speak about anything.

“I don’t want to comment.”

The former Chelsea man did however admit that Bale should be fit for next week’s friendly against Monaco.

“He is going to be fit to join the team for training on Wednesday.

“He hasn't done any training with the team yet but he was involved in some pre-season friendlies before that. He's been almost at maximum training and we're pretty confident that he'll join us for the sessions and be involved."
