‘Dos Santos deal down to Barca’

Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay says that the club’s move for Jonathan dos Santos depends on Barcelona’s intentions.

The Mexican midfielder has been strongly linked with a move away from Barca this summer, with La Real seen as in the picture to pick up the 23-year-old as a replacement for Asier Illarramendi.

Whilst negotiations have been seen as advanced between the two clubs for Dos Santos, Real’s President has today affirmed that only a switch on an initial temporary basis is their desire.

“We can neither be pessimistic or optimistic, we are just talking, and everything depends on Barcelona, if they want a loan,” reflected Aperribay to reporters today.

“Then, I believe that the operation can be done very easily and very fast, but if they want a transfer then everything can be complicated and he may not even come.

“But we are confident that it will end well and it is a matter of waiting, because Barcelona right now have gone through an unsettling period.

“Let’s see how this ends, but we have other options and we are looking at them too.

“There has been no new progress, but it is certain that there has been some differences between the player and club as to whether he leaves on loan or permanently.

“We are waiting, it is not a good time for them for what has happened with Tito, so we have to be patient.

“This week we are not going to press or ask for anything, we will be gentle, but the interest is there and we have to keep waiting.”
