‘Bale should stay one more year’

Robbie Keane has advised his former teammate Gareth Bale to remain at Tottenham Hotspur for at least one more season.

The Welshman has been increasingly linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this transfer window, with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs reportedly considering a move, including Real Madrid.

However, for his former captain at Spurs, the wisest move for Bale would be to stay put.

“Gareth Bale is a top player,” stated current LA Galaxy man Keane to Talksport today.

“I played with him and I know he’ll be fine wherever he goes because he’s a level-headed lad and at the moment he’s one of the best players in the world.

“I would like to see him stay at Tottenham for one more year and see how they do in the battle to make the Champions League.

“Like any player he’ll want to test himself against best in the world. I don’t think anyone would begrudge him if he did go to Real Madrid.

“I think it’s evident that eventually he will go to one of those massive clubs.”
