Fuego promises action over words

Javi Fuego says he will not promise ‘goals or performance’ at Valencia, but rather demonstrate his determination on the field.

The midfielder was confirmed at the start of this month as a new signing for Los Che, on from the expiry of his Rayo Vallecano contract.

“I will bring commitment, humility and work. Values that a professional should always have,” affirmed Fuego at his presentation this week.

“I will not promise goals nor even a high performance because we have to prove this on the field and words can be lost in the wind. I’m going to work as hard as any young player.

“At 29, I have had to fight hard and much, I have experienced situations that make me appreciate this very much. I have come to a big club.

“Although I knew this before, I have really noticed it in the last day and a half.”
