Alexis Sanchez crashed his car in the early hours of Thursday morning, but managed to walk away unscathed.
Reportedly The Chilean international was returning home from Barcelona’s Copa Catalunya Cup win over Espanyol when his car left the road along a motorway.
Continuing to skid for a further 100 yards down the road, with the car receiving ‘visible damage’ and one of the wheels apparently breaking loose, Alexis was able to walk away from the incident, which involved no other vehicles.
It is alleged that the player phoned a teammate to pick him up and left the car, whilst a passing driver reported having seen the accident and the crashed car’s driver leaving the scene.
Reports are that police traced the car back to Alexis and visited him on the following afternoon, where he allegedly confirmed the accident.
Leaving the scene of the accident could see the player handed a fine or administrative penalty.
