Elche have won promotion to La Liga for the first time in 24 years despite losing to Almeria on Sunday.
The Franjiverdes lost 2-1 to the second placed side today, but with three games of the season remaining, sit 11 points clear at the top of Segunda Division.
It means Fran Escriba’s men will play in the top-flight of Spanish football next term for the first time since 1988/89.
