Ramos-Albiol combination for final

Sergio Ramos is still not 100 per cent fit, but is believed set to start for Real Madrid alongside Raul Albiol in tonight’s Copa del Rey Final.

The defender has been battling back from a hamstring injury sustained in the final minutes of Madrid’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund at the start of May.

Working back with his teammates from the middle of this week, reports are that the 27-year-old is not yet at 100 per cent condition, but that he will be start in defence.

Speculation is that despite being named in the 24-man squad for the game, Pepe will not make the line-up, with Raul Albiol expected to deputise in Raphael Varane’s absence.

Marcelo has just returned to training this week also, but unlike Ramos, he is seen as unlikely to start tonight.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be set on most of his midfield and front-line, with only a decision to be made in the centre between Sami Khedira and Luka Modric.

Real Madrid provisional XI to play Atletico Madrid: Diego Lopez; Essien, Ramos, Albiol, Coentrao; Khedira, Alonso; Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo; Benzema
