Khedira wins Ambassador award

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has been named German Football Ambassador of the year at a ceremony in Nuremberg.

The award, voted for by the public, saw the Blancos man beat his teammate Mesut Ozil, as well as Lazio's Miroslav Klose and Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski.

Speaking via video link, the 26-year-old claimed his win was “an incentive for the future”.

Khedira has been virtually ever-present for Jose Mourinho's side this term, playing in 40 games in a ll competitions and scoring three goals.
