Madrid optimistic for Ozil

Real Madrid doctors are today described as optimistic of having Mesut Ozil fit for next week’s Copa del Rey Final.

The German playmaker was stretchered off during Madrid’s 6-2 win over Malaga yesterday evening with a sprained ankle.

After a first round of tests on the injury, caused by a challenge from Ignacio Camacho, Madrid medical staff are reportedly confident that the German can recover in time to make May 17’s Cup clash with Atletico Madrid.

Ozil will undergo further tests during the course of Thursday to rule out and serious damage caused by the injury.
