Juan Ignacio Martinez has confirmed his faith in Levante’s players and his hope that they will be cleared of allegations of match fixing.
Reports this week have suggested that the Spanish Football League have passed on evidence to the Anti-corruption Office of Los Granotes having fixed their 4-0 home defeat to Depor last month.
“I trust the professionalism of the players and I hope that the investigation will wipe clean this stain,” reflected Martinez to reporters today.
“I am happy with the performance of my players in recent games, but we have not put things together as we would have wanted.
“This week I have spoken to the President, Barkero, Juanfran…I have nothing more to say, although I understand that for you [journalists] this theme will continue.
“As for its impact, even my father who is in his 80s called me last night to see what was happening.”
