Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have told him that Gareth Bale will not be sold this summer.
Speculation is linking Bale with a big-money exit this summer, but his Coach has asserted that even if the London side miss out on Champions League qualifcation, they will not be cashing in on the man with a €70m asking price.
“The information I have from the club is that the player is here to remain, regardless of if we achieve the objective of Champions League,” Villas-Boas told reporters this week.
“The club has to move forward by holding on to its best players. Gareth, with the recognition and the further experience he has had this year, will be even more assertive.
“Gareth, at his age, has the advantage of time to progress further with his game. He is playing at the top of his game in the Premier League which is extremely difficult. He can become even better.
“I have had the privilege to work with a couple of great players and Gareth joins them among the best.”
