Aguirre won’t comment on Europe

Espanyol boss Javier Aguirre has refused to comment on whether the club can aim for European football at the end of the season.

The Periquitos defeated Getafe 2-0 on Sunday to move up to 10th in the table, seven points behind Malaga in sixth.

The Mexican Coach though, has admitted that he does not know if they can make the Europa League, whilst also commenting on the Azulones' two sendings off.

“Tomorrow we will sit down with the team and talk,” he told a Press conference. “We will talk and make a decision based on the dynamics and how the players feel.

“I remember when I was with Osasuna – we beat Real Madrid 3-0 with six games remaining, and then lost all our games.

“I will not speak about the referee. It was very difficult for us to play against nine men.

“That period of the game was our worst. Getafe were more intense than us and were closer to a goal than us.”
