Emery eyes away improvement

Unai Emery sees the derby at Real Betis as Sevilla’s chance to improve their away form this season.

Los Nervionenses have won just once away from home in La Liga this term and head into Friday’s Seville derby, according to their Coach, as underdogs.

“Betis are doing better in the League, because they are ahead of us, they are the favourite, but we have time to overtake them,” assessed Emery in his pre-match conference.

“But the advantage of them going into this in form and playing in their stadium will be strong, with their fans, and it is possible that it makes them favourites.

“We have a lot of confidence, although with little reason so far, because in 15 games on the road we have just the one win, but we are convinced that we will turn this situation around, with loud and clear recognition that we have not done well so far and that we now must do better.

“Friday we have another chance, thanks to everything around us we still do not have pressure, so we should not feel under pressure. We will use it when required in training and then on the field.

“This is a game to be playing on the pitch and one for the fans. And it is the duty on two fronts to win, one for European qualifying and one for the supporters.”
