‘We are doing well, and it shows’

Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka has admitted that the team are hitting a rich vein of form as they enter the last remaining matches of the season.

Los Blancos defeated Levante 5-1 on Saturday thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain, Kaka and a double from Mesut Ozil.

And the Coach has claimed that despite the scoreline, it was a tough encounter.

“The match could have been killed off well before, but until our third it wasn’t,” he told a Press conference.

“We knew if that goal did not come that it could have become complicated because Levante are very experienced and could have drawn level from any counter-attack.

“We are coming to the important part of the season, the team is doing really well and it shows in matches like Wednesday in the Champions League and today in the league.

The players who do not get many chances have these matches to play in and have their chance to prove they are capable of being in the side.

And also we are motivated by finishing second, because Atletico are a point behind and went have to keep going so they can’t go ahead of us.”
