Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iker Muniain has revealed that he has felt 'misunderstood' at some points this season.
The 20-year-old has been in-and-out of Los Leones' starting XI this term through injury, and was condemned by the Press earlier this month after storming off following a substitution.
And the Spain international has admitted that he has endured a tough time this year, whilst also commenting on the match with Granada this Monday.
“I have felt misunderstood,” he told reporters. “There have been comments and opinions [in the media] that have bothered me.
“Those kinds of people are jumping on the bandwagon – they are nice when things go well.
“I don't have a problem with anyone. But if the question is 'have I ever felt misunderstood?' then the answer is yes.
“The newspapers are filled every day and there are things that bother me. But I do understand your work.
“Now we have a very important game with Granada – points are much needed.”
