Casillas back end of March

Iker Casillas is set to be available to return to playing for Real Madrid more than two weeks ahead of schedule, after hand surgery.

The 31-year-old underwent a corrective procedure on his left hand at the end of January after sustaining a fracture playing against Valencia in the Copa del Rey.

Following on from his return to working with his hands this week, reports have it that he is targeting March 30’s League match with Real Zaragoza as the fixture he would first be fit to play in.

That would mark a recovery of just under nine weeks, faster than the initial 12-week ruling doctors handed the ‘keeper in January.

Casillas posted a message of thanks to fans on his Facebook page, as well as a couple of short clips showing him in action in training once more.
