Pepe Mel enjoyed Real Betis’ 3-3 draw at Real Sociedad, commenting that both teams deserved to pick up three points from it.
An up-and-down affair saw Los Beticos run into a 2-0 lead, fall back to 3-2 before pulling it back to a level affair for the final result.
“I think first of all that for any football fan, rather than just those of Real Betis, that has been a great game where we both deserved to win and perhaps a point is a little short as reward for both,” reflected Mel post-match.
“When it got to 0-2 to us I would have liked the game to close out, but in the end it was a dizzy game.
“I want to congratulate all the players who took part. We had a vibrant game.
“We found ourselves 3-2 down against an attacking side, with a devoted crowd, and we work up. I’ll take that and, if we keep this up, we’ll move up the table.
“The season lasts 10 months, it is extensive. We’ve had ups and downs and injuries. We have recovered more people and we’re fresh in the legs and minds.”
