Philippe Montanier praised Real Betis for being the best after Barcelona to play at Real Sociedad this season.
Betis came away with a 3-3 result in an entertaining Sunday evening affair with La Real, in a game that Montanier felt his side should have won.
“It was a great game against a great opponent. Betis have been the best opponent after Barcelona to have played here at Anoeta, showing great offensive potential,” mused the French Coach at full-time.
“I am happy because we showed better quality than in our two previous games. The only thing we lacked was the three points.
“Was the result fair? We had more chances. If it had been a boxing match, we would have won on points, but Betis played a very effective offensive game.
“To go 1-0 down was hard, but the reaction of the squad was great. It is not the first time and I am very proud of my team, the mentality of the players, because to come back against a team like Betis is very difficult.
“We fight to win. It was a crazy game, but I always had the feeling that we could because we had opportunities to finish in attack.”
