Rosell, Bartomeu off to see Vilanova

Barcelona President Sandro Rosell and Vice-President Josep Maria Bartomeu have left for New York today to see Coach Tito Vilanova.

Vilanova is in America at the moment receiving treatment in his recovery from a returned tumour discovered on one of his salivary glands in December.

Having already been visited recently by sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta with a handful of other technical staff, Rosell and Bartomeu are the latest to see Vilanova this week.

The duo are reported as having headed out today to New York and are expected to discuss a number of topics with the 44-year-old.

These include the imminent future of the team, including transfer market strategies for the summer and Vilanova’s physical and mental capacity to continue on the bench for next season, as part of his two-year contract.

Zubizarreta was originally expected to also make the trip, but it was decided late last night that he stay in Barcelona.
