Valencia have reportedly identified Levante’s Vicente Iborra as a prime candidate to replace David Albelda in the summer.

Veteran Albelda has confirmed that he is more than likely going to leave Mestalla at the end of his contract this June, after 19 years at the club.

Los Che are reported today as having already looked in the market for possible replacements and picked out city neighbours Levante’s Iborra as a potential replacement.

Iborra has caught the eye this year with his performances for Los Granotes and has also been linked with Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old’s current contract at Ciutat de Valencia expires in June 2014 and has a buyout clause of €6m, which would rise if he were called up to the Spain national team.

Iborra has a new contract on the table from Levante and is understood to have not ruled out continuing at the club, but he will reportedly only make a decision on his future at the end of the season.
