New Celta Vigo Coach Abel Resino has briefly commented on his return to La Liga and has promised that he will fight to the end of the season with the club.
Sat 18th in La Liga and four points adrift of safety, Celta took action over the weekend to fire Paco Herrera and bring in Resino as his replacement.
Following on from holding his first training session on Monday evening, the former Atletico Madrid and Granada boss was presented the media on Tuesday morning.
“This is a difficult challenge, but I am convinced that we will try everything until the last second to make sure that this club continues to enjoy life in the Spanish Primera Division,” Resino declared.
“I have a great squad, but we have to be a much stronger team and compete with more intensity.”
President Carlos Mourino also commented on the change on the bench.
“There is great recognition for Paco Herrera. He gave us a lot and I want to thank him. Not only from a sporting aspect but also a human and personal one, Herrera will always be linked to Celta.”
