Celta Vigo have reportedly handed Coach Paco Herrera the next two games to turn around the club’s fortunes, or be sacked.
Herrera returned Celta to La Liga after a five-year absence and currently has the team sitting in 18th place, two points adrift of safety after 23 rounds of action.
The 59-year-old, who was dismissive this week about rumours over his future, has reportedly been given the games away to Getafe this Saturday and at home to Granada next Sunday to improve the team’s position in the table.
Winning both games will apparently keep his position on the bench secure, lose both and he will be sacked. Win just one of the games and his future will allegedly be reviewed.
The Galicians have struggled in and around the penalty area this season with only Osasuna having registered fewer goals for than their 21 managed so far this term.
